Steve McCune has been a proud resident of Franklinton for 10 years. He is married to Kendra Foy McCune and they have two children together: Sawyer age 17, and Sinclaire age 15. Kendra’s parents, AW and Sally Foy, have been lifelong residents of Franklinton. Of course, everyone knows Aunt Kimberly, Kendra’s sister.  Ste

Background / Experience

Steve McCune is the President of Intec America Corp which manufactures and distributes various water treatment technologies domestically and abroad. Intec is a 50-year-old company that commercialized NASA research for water sanitation and chlorine free pools.  Before Intec, he was the controller for an LSU startup and handled all the financials, stock sales, and day to day operations for International Mezzo Technologies.   He obtained his bachelor’s degree in marketing and his MBA in finance from Southeastern Louisiana University.


As a town alderman, Steve McCune will work tirelessly to ensure our community thrives.

COMMUNITY ISSUES

Consent Decree

The town of Franklinton was sued by the United States government for $410,000 and has to amend its zoning ordinance, zoning map, and establish a Fair Housing ordinance

Town Water

Franklinton is located on the edge of the tannin corridor.  Tannis are pigments created from decaying vegetation and is the leading contributor to the brown water found in town 

Town Park

The State of Louisiana has set aside $295,000 for the equipment to be utilized for a town park.  However, an issue with the bid process/acceptance created delays.  The estimated project cost is over budget with what the alderman agreed upon in 2023.  No location has been agreed upon.

Town Ordinances

The town on Franklinton has not updated the town ordinances in 10 years 

Sewage / Drainage

Many homes and businesses in the town have issues with drainage and the sewage lines backing up during heavy rains
